A Las Vegas hotel incident on Saturday led to the alleged involvement of the former fighter.

The 44-year old man was seen being led down a corridor in handcuffs.

Police have now confirmed that the former Bellator and UFC star had committed a misdemeanor Battery against five victims.

Larry Hadfield, Las Vegas Police Public Information Officer, stated in a statement to MMA Fighting that "Sonnen was issued a battery citation each victim and then escorted from property.

"Due the fact that the misdemeanors weren't committed in the presence of a police officer, an arrest wasn't made."

Hadfield explained that the officers teamed up with hotel security to address the incident after initially responding.

Sonnen has not yet made any comment about the incident.

According to TMZ, the 'American Gangster" was reportedly seen 'banging at a hotel door' before engaging in a physical altercation.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but there were no injuries.

Since June 2019, Sonnen has not been in the cage since he was knocked out by Lyoto Machida.
