A fight with Khamzat Chimiev was'verbally agreed to'

According to reports, this fight will be the final under the UFC contract that the 37-year old has.

ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto stated that the fight was'verbally agreed to' and that it is the final fight under Nate Diaz’s current UFC contract.

Diaz, 37, has not fought since UFC 263 in Glendale, Arizona last summer.

He lost to Leon Edwards, and has now lost his last four fights against Jorge Masvidal (and Conor McGregor) who both beat him.

He has had a remarkable career in the UFC since 2007, when he first joined.

Diaz stated earlier this summer that he was being held hostage by the contract situation.

Diaz, 37 years old, was eager to see his contract end sooner.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour this summer, he stated: "I was trying get this s**t to the road, but they don’t want me out my contract and they’re keeping me in that and they’re holding me hostage.

"And I want to get out. This is my main goal here."

Diaz believed that the UFC was trying to keep him around in order to fight bitter rival Conor McGregor in a blockbuster trio fight.

The Ultimate Fighter Season Five winner doesn't plan to welcome The Notorious back into the octagon.

Stockton's slugger stated that they didn't want me to be released from my contract.

"They want me fight Conor. Conor McGregor is not the one I am fighting right now. Our timelines don't match up.

"You bring me back to life and I'll be back."
