Diaz doesn't want to go on a rubber match against The Notorious.

Fan favourite Diaz won't face The Notorious until his old foe returns to the win column.

He tweeted, "Conor's going to have to get him some wins. And prove that he's not as fragile."

McGregor and Diaz, both 36, were part of two of the most memorable UFC fights in 2016.

White anticipates that the score will be resolved at some point in the series' epic series, which is currently at 1-1.

According to him, TMZ is still working on the fight.

"But yes, Conor-Nate would be counted out. "But yeah, Conor-Nate would be out of my mind if this fight didn't take place again.

"[Conor] is chomping at any chance to get back.

"Realistically speaking, when you take a look at all Conor has going on right now regarding coming back and other preparations he needs again, it looks like early fall [for his] return."

McGregor, a former two-division champion, is currently in the final stages in his recovery from the terrible broken leg that he sustained in his fight with Dustin Poirier in 2013.

The Irishman wants to make a summer return at the Octagon, and he said: "I would love [to] return at] International Fight Week."

"But we'll see, though. It's up to me to keep it going day by day.

"April they said that I would be back sparring and back twisting and turning."
