King lost the first round, but rallied in the next to win a thrilling TKO stoppage. This was made possible by a series of hammer fists from the mount.

O'Neil, elated after her win with Daniel Cormier (future two-division UFC champ), said that it felt good to get the win.

"I repeat it often, just because I didn’t have the chance to fight people like this doesn’t mean that I don’t want it.

Many people questioned O'Neil's credibility prior to the fight. However, she added two wins to her impeccable record in her maiden appearances in the promotion.

She said, "I was stuck down here in Australia, where no one cares until you've had so many wins.

"So now, I'm winning, I'm staying, and I can be real."

O'Neil, the daughter of legendary Scottish kickboxer Cam, hopes to get a little more respect from her peers following her impressive performance in Sin City.

She said, "I hope I proved that tonight to everyone because I'm here for the long haul."

O'Neil confessed that she was still feeling unpaid before she clashed with Shevchenko.

SunSport spoke to her: "There were a lot doubts going into [my debut].

"I spent my entire career doubting, really."

"I started as an amateur at 0-2. Everyone said that my dad gave me easy fights when I began winning.

"And when I fought overseas,"

"And when Shana [Dobson] came to me, I felt that I was going get the respect I deserved.

"But then, I still didn’t. People claimed that I beat one the easiest people in UFC. That was very annoying.

"And when Lara [Procopio] beat me, people started to respect me a bit."

O'Neil is open for a fourth fight, but she says she will listen to her Xtreme Couture coaches.
