Before they arrived at the hospital, the pair was all smiles.

Although Rodriguez came out strong and won the first round of the match, the former champion lost unanimously to Rodriguez.

From the second round, the Mexican was taken a beating and left with two ugly shiners and a cut to his left cheekbone.

To make things worse, his right leg appeared to have been broken.

El Pantera received his first check-up and was then taken to the ambulance for further medical treatment.

Holloway, however, made sure to pay respect to his opponent before he was taken away.

Rodriguez was embraced by him and he replied, "Yair, you frickin' animal!" Oh, I don’t want to touch your ankle.

"That's 50K brother, that's 50K brother."

Rodriguez said to Holloway, "I love you", but Holloway responded, "No, I love you brother."

Holloway, a bruised man, climbed into an ambulance to take a photo with his rival. He wanted it to be sent to him on his phone.

Holloway thanked Rodriguez's coach in wrestling, Israel Martinez, before he said his farewells.

Holloway's second consecutive dominant performance against Calvin Kattar, his first in January, has placed him at the edge of a three-fight series with Alexander Volkanovski, featherweight king.

Blessed, however, is not limiting his options and said in his post-fight interview that he would "see what happens."

"There's Hunter [Campbell], there's Sean (Shelby] right there. They do their damn jobs.

"I have a win against the 155-pound champion. We have Alex and stuff. I'm on Conor McGregor's shortlist - tell him to get my line. We are ready whenever."

When asked about his preference for his next opponent, the 29 year-old replied, "To be the greatest, you have to beat the best, and Blessed is the best.

"They gotta follow me, baby."
