Patchy Mix shocked the Dublin crowd with his victory
The 25-year old, ranked No.6, was competing in his first fight since leaving John Kavanagh's SBG Ireland to go to the USA and Glory MMA.
Kavanagh, despite being now trained by James Krause was still there for the showdown before the loud Dublin crowd.
Mix was facing an opponent who weighed almost 2lbs more than he did at the time. This made it catchweight, and forced Mix to forfeit a portion of his purse to Gallagher.
This was the American's first weight loss. He lost unanimously to Juan Archuleta during a fight for the vacant bantamweight title at Bellator 246, September 2020.
After Thursday's weigh in, the Strabanimal quickly blasted his opponent, declaring: "He's already defeated." His mind is weak."
He was forced to swallow his words after a serious setback in his bid to win a bantamweight championship shot.
