French MMA Fighter Cedric Doumbe has his sights set on Jake Paul for a potential fight, claiming it would draw a massive crowd.
Cedric Doumbe, who signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) last year, made a stunning debut in just nine seconds back in September. Now, he is set to return to the ring on March 7 in Paris against Baissangour Chamsoudinov. However, Doumbe has his eyes on Jake Paul, who is also signed with the PFL, as a potential backup replacement if Chamsoudinov fails to make weight.
In an interview on The MMA Hour, Doumbe stated, "Maybe I'm gonna fight, I don't know. I'm gonna choose maybe Jake Paul! Maybe Jake Paul. But I mean, Jake Paul is the guy. If I fight against Jake Paul, I think the Stade de France would be full in an hour."
The Stade de France, known for hosting football matches, has a capacity of 80,000 fans. Doumbe, who is one of France's biggest stars, believes that a fight against Jake Paul would attract a massive crowd. Notably, prominent PSG players, including Kylian Mbappe, have attended Doumbe's previous fights.
While Jake Paul is primarily known for his boxing career with an 8-1 record, he is set to make his MMA debut with the PFL in 2024. His upcoming boxing match is scheduled for March 2 in Puerto Rico. Doumbe, on the other hand, fights in the welterweight division at 170 pounds, while Paul competes in the cruiserweight division at 200 pounds, resulting in a significant two-stone weight difference between them.

Despite the weight difference, Doumbe expressed confidence in a potential fight against Paul, stating, "He's bigger than me, for sure. Same height but bigger than me. But I like when I'm fit. I don't like to do the weight cut."
This potential matchup between Jake Paul and Cedric Doumbe has garnered significant attention and could be a major event in the world of combat sports. Fans will have to wait and see if the fight becomes a reality.
