Former UFC middleweight champion challenger has asked for the former double champ to fight the American when he returns to action.
Sonnen spoke out about the story of the bus attack in Brooklyn prior to UFC 223 that left 'Maverick" injured.
Sonnen stated that the UFC could promote the fight on their Youtube channel based on an incident at The Barclays Centre, 2018.
He stated: "Just to remind guys. There were lawsuits that followed the bus accident between Conor, Khabib and the dolly. Chiesa was also one of them.
"Chiesa had glass in his eye. It was a very horrible experience. There's a story.
"I have always believed there was a story that needed to be told. It has not been told by either man. It was not told by the manager of either guy, nor has it been told by any camp, or even taught by trainers.
"But that's it. From a stylistic perspective, that's an interesting match. This matches a lot of criteria."
However, 'The Notorious" has called for an opportunity to fight UFC's 170lbs kingpin once he returns.
In a Sky Sports interview, Usman also denied denying the possibility of meeting McGregor from Dublin.
According to the 'Nigerian Nightmare, the historical significance of the bout is the reason why he would consider defending his welterweight title against the former featherweight champion and lightweight champion.
He stated: "Yes, Conor magnetizes everything. It's a bigger magnitude fight.
"The only stake in the claim - The only reason this would likely interest me is because Conor is trying something new; Conor wants to be the first man in three divisions to win a belt.
"Something similar to that, of course, I might, but I want to see what he could do. A piece of me, therefore, has never been done. But potential this could be. However, at the end of it all none of them merit it.
