The star placed seventh in the tournament with more than 7,700 participants

The fighter participated in a massive tournament with a South Florida buy-in of $400 on Monday.

Covington came in seventh and won almost $50,000 in prize money when he reached the final table at Seminole Hard Rock Casino's $400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold'em in Hollywood, Fla.

Tommy Morgado had a King and an Ace of hearts when he took on the 17-3 MMA wrestler.

Seminole Hard Rock's coverage shows that neither Morgado nor Covington received any help from the deck of cards. This meant that Morgado's King defeated his opponent's 8 to eliminate.

The tournament attracted more than 7,700 participants and had a prize pool of $2.5m (PS2m).

Covington was seventh in the poll with $48,298.

Morgado finished second, and took home almost $187,000. This was after five other players agreed to split the prize pot based on their chip holdings.

Jorge Masvidal, his bitter friend, was defeated by Covington in his Octagon last fight. The unanimous decision came at UFC 272 (March)

This was following his November 2021 defeat to Kamaru Usman, welterweight champion, in a rematch.

He was allegedly attacked by his opponent in Miami Beach just two weeks after Covington beat Masvidal.

According to reports, he had a fractured tooth.

Masvidal was taken into custody and charged with criminal mischief and aggravated battery.

The trial and hearing for his pre-trial hearing are set for later in the month in the US.
