This year, the UFC set another record - they were the first US-based UFC to resume normal service after the pandemic.
President Dana White stated that it was the best year of his career, speaking before UFC 269 earlier in this month.
This year, the UFC
had a record year.
It's been the best year. Tomorrow will be the biggest pay-per-view day ever.
"This is the largest non-Conor McGregor gate at the T-Mobile Arena, and it's been an amazing year for us."
The third quarter of 2021 saw mixed martial arts' top promotion generate an estimated PS244million in revenues.
Many of their fighters also made quite a lot.
SunSport felt it was only right to list the 2021 promotion's highest earners.
Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is the highest-earning name on the list.
The Irishman is, after all, the greatest draw in the history mixed martial arts.
McGregor was the first mixed martial artist ever to be paid a multimillion-pound check for his fights. This trend was maintained in 2021.
His exact earnings were not public, but his guaranteed purses for this year are expected to have been at least PS4.4million ($6million).
McGregor's last publicly revealed purse - it was for his UFC 264 fight with Donald Cerrone – showed that he had a guaranteed PS2.2M.
However, the total earnings of the Irishman would have been substantially increased by any additional agreements he has with UFC and his respective cuts of pay-per view points.
Dustin Poirier
McGregor was twice opposed by McGregor this year. He is believed to be another UFC fighter who earned the most money this year.
Dustin Poirier was said to have won a cool PS224,000 ($300,000.) in his first win over McGregor in January. This set him up for a lucrative new contract.
According to reports, Poirier received a cool PS750,000 ($1M), for his fight with The Notorious in which he won via a first-round TKO.
It is not known how much The Diamond spent on his failed attempt to dethrone Charles Oliveira, the lightweight champion earlier this month.
He would have most certainly earned at least PS1M ($1.3M) to finance his work in this year.
Israel Adesanya
Israel Adesanya, the dominant middleweight champion, was in the cage twice this year. However, he failed to make it to the two-division World Champs.
However, if he had used his latest purse, his bank account would have ended the year in fine condition.
For his final title defense against Marvin Vettori at UFC 26,3, The Last Stylebender received PS375,000 ($500,000).
Given the fact that he fought twice for Nigeria in 2021, the Kiwi-born Nigerian would have earned at least PS750,000 ($1M) this fiscal year.
This figure will be much higher if you add in his other agreements with the UFC brass as well as his cut of PPV point points.
Michael Chandler
UFC's new fighter Michael Chandler made an impressive debut on Fight Island in January.
His reported purse for the fight with Justin Gaethje was even more impressive after UFC supremo White suggested that I made a staggering PS562,000 in his third fight in promotion.
White did not mention Chandler, but he said to Pardon My Take that he knew Bo (Badou), Jack. Right?
"Former world champion. He will be fighting in the Middle East this weekend. He's earning $75,000.
"A guy who's not even... he is on the prelims.
"Never been world champion -- I won't name his name -- is making $750,000.
"Prelim fighter. "Prelim fighter.
Chandler may have indeed gotten that large purse along with the pair he got for his fights with Dan Hooker, champ Charles Oliveira and the rest of the UFC's highest earners of the year.
