CONOR MCGREGOR claims a three-man decisive fight with Nate Diaz will "WILL HAPPEN", despite the fact that "bonafide star" has only one fight remaining on his UFC contract.
Diaz, 37 years old, will be entering a UFC Octagon for the last time on Saturday as his contract expires.
Before Saturday's UFC 279, Diaz demanded a three-fight with McGregor, an old rival.
McGregor claims a third fight against Diaz "will happen"
American brawler Khamzat Chimaev (28), was to meet him, but the Swede lost seven-and-a half pounds.
Chimaev joked about coming in heavy, and the UFC has chosen Tony Ferguson to replace him.
Diaz stated that a trio fight with McGregor would take place ahead of Saturday's UFC 279 event.
McGregor supported his determination to face him again.
McGregor, 34, sent Diaz a tweet in which he first congratulated him for ending his UFC contract and then declared that a trilogy "will occur".
He stated: "Congratulations to Nate Diaz for making it to the conclusion of his contractual obligations with UFC and as a bonafide celebrity goer.
"An amazing feat. Fair play.
"Our trilogy will be realized."
McGregor also weighs in on Chimaev’s weight drama.
He claims Chimaev should not have been given a new opponent but pulled from the card.
Kevin Holland will be taking on Chimaev in the co-main event.
McGregor is concerned that Chimaev's actions of smirking McGregor will lead to other fighters following his example, with others claiming that he intentionally lost weight.
McGregor said, "My opinion they should've pulled Khamzat completely from the card.
"Reconfiguring bouts and having a less favourable bout for the failed cutter will only encourage others to follow their lead.
"The smiles on the scale were enough for me. Take the card and starve. McG UFC.
