Conor McGregor "ducking" Charles Oliveira fight ahead of UFC return

CONOR MCGREGOR was accused of "duking" Charles Oliveira, former UFC lightweight champion.

After winning the belt, Brazilian sensation Oliveira started campaigning to face The Notorious in a showdown. He was then stripped of it last May.

Do Bronx pressed for a fight with the UFC's star fighter after his victories over Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier last December and May, respectively.

McGregor isn't open to the idea of facing the submission specialist in the same way as other lightweight fighters. Junior dos Santos, a former UFC heavyweight champion, has noticed this.

Cigano stated during a Podpah podcast appearance: "Didn't you see that (Charles Oliveira), challenged (Conor McGregor) not too long ago?"

McGregor does a lot of ducking. We all know that McGregor is just ducking. It is obvious that he doesn't want it, and it's a bad fight.

Oliveira increased his call-out to McGregor by two last month, but was met silence.

ESPN Brazil reported that he said: "It would have been a very good fight.

"It would put money in my pocket, which is what I consider the most important thing. It would be a great thing for my legacy to have my story.

"Regardless of whether he's coming out of defeat or not, he is a man who's made History, so I think it'd be great but it's not up to me.

"If I had the power, this fight would be already happening. I have a daughter to raise.

"Everyone wants Conor to be fought, it's not only me who wants to. Fighting Conor is extremely profitable, everyone knows this. "I'm referring to money."

Oliveira could fight McGregor if he defeats Islam Makhachev in their UFC 280 lightweight title fight in Abu Dhabi.

McGregor is currently in the final stages in recovering from the terrible broken leg that he sustained in his fight with Poirier in July.

John Kavanagh, the head coach of the Irishman, recently stated to BBC: "He is healthy and happy and it's great having him back."

"The last few sessions here at the gym were MMA-oriented - he has the all-clear now.

"He had a great session last evening, and we played some amazing rounds. He looked great and hasn't lost any of his momentum.

"Trust me, I had a little bit of a wrestling match with him last night. I felt it...

"When the silverback arm wraps around your neck, there's a little extra squeeze there... He's very, very powerful at the moment."
