Legal Blow for McGregor
Conor McGregor has been dealt a major financial blow as a US court overturns a payout awarded to him and his manager, Audie Attar, in a contract dispute with Manny Pacquiao. The court ruled their contract null and void.
The Contract Dispute
McGregor and Attar's Paradigm Sports Management paid Pacquiao $3 million four years ago for an exclusive deal that included a potential exhibition bout between Pacquiao and McGregor. However, Pacquiao never fought under Paradigm's name, leading to a legal battle.
Pacquiao's Revenge
After a jury initially ruled in McGregor's favor, an appeal court judge overturned the decision. The judge cited that Paradigm did not have the necessary license to represent Pacquiao, rendering the contract illegal and unenforceable.
Legal Battles Mounting
McGregor is also facing another legal challenge in Ireland from his former sparring partner, Artem Lobov. Lobov is suing McGregor, claiming he was promised ownership in McGregor's whiskey business, which recently sold a majority stake for $600 million.
