Conor McGregor fight confirmed by Michael Chandler, but with one condition.

MICHAEL CHANDLER would love to fight Conor McGregor, UFC's superstar... but only if he goes up to welterweight.

McGregor, 33 years old, comes off two losses to Dustin Poirier at lightweight, the second of which left him with an injured leg.

The Irishman continues his recovery from the serious injury sustained at UFC 246. It is still not clear who his next opponent will come from.

UFC boss Dana White has canceled a fourth fight against Poirier, but no concrete plans have been made.

Now, Chandler, who lost at UFC 268, has put his hand in the ring with a bizarre social media post. He appeared to suggest that he is large enough to fight McGregor at 170lbs.

He spoke on Twitter and said that two welterweights were present in the main event at #ufc268.

"But two lightweights created the card. 72 hours after #ufc268, one lightweight who started the card weighed more that all the others.

"Over 191lbs in 72 hours. #seeyouat170mcgregor."

McGregor has not won the Octagon since he defeated Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds January 2020.

White, UFC chief, insists that despite his recent performances, he will continue to be a headline draw in future fights.

He said that he was still one of the top 10 men in the world during a Pardon My Take appearance.

"I mean, he is still one of top 10 best guys worldwide.

"It will depend on who he is fighting and other things like that. But Conor McGregor's return to the ring is a big deal."

He continued, "Eventually, once you start going in that direction," and then added: "When a man gets to Conor’s level, this discussion about Nate Diaz is, these guys make big money.

"I want these guys stay around and do as much as possible before it's done."
