The Irishman also wants to return to the Octagon in the summer.

McGregor, 33 years old, has made a quicker recovery than expected and plans to return to sparring in April. This will allow him to be a headliner on International Fight Week, July.

SecondsOut was informed by The Notorious that he would like to "return at" International Fight Week. We'll see. It's up to me to keep it going day by day.

They said that I would be back sparring, twisting and turning in April. A few months ago, they told me I could box. Then all of a sudden, I couldn’t box.

"So, I'm taking it day-by-day. There's no hurry."

McGregor, a former two-division McGregor, struggled with mental issues after his debilitating injury. However, he is now in much better health after eight months intensive rehabilitation.

UFC's first simultaneous world champion at two weights said, "I'm in great mental shape."

"Physically, my body is strong and I feel energetic. I am always ready to fight so I will just keep trying day after day.

"It will occur when the Lord wants it to."

McGregor seems to be set for a summer return. However, his co-manager in Ireland believes that McGregor will likely be back in action in autumn.

Paradigm Sports Senior Vice President Tim Simpson stated during an appearance on The MMA Hour that he doesn't need back. He is happy with who he was and the accomplishments he has made financially and athletically.

"After that injury it was like, ‘Now might be the right time’. He wants to fight again, which I find baffling. It also says a lot more about him.

"I don’t believe it will be in summer, but it will certainly be some stage this season.

"Maybe we wait to see when the lightweight title fight takes place and then go there.

"He will fight in this year's fight and it is a credit for him. He has no real reason to except the desire to, and that is impressive."
