Many boxers consider Muhammad Ali to be the 'Greatest' fighter of all time.

Taylor, the undisputed boxing champion, has spoken out to say that she reached out to McGregor following McGregor's devastating loss.

The 35-year old Irish fighter spoke on the MMA Hour. He said that he had messaged McGregor after the Dustin Poirier fight to just offer encouragement.

"He has always been a great support to me."

She compared him to Ali, who won 56 out of his 61 fights and 37 by knockout.

Taylor said, "I think that he's just somebody who's actually transcended this sport. He's the Muhammad Ali of UFC.

"He is a great athlete. He's also a great businessman.

"But what he has done in the sport of the UFC and in his career is absolutely amazing, and I don’t think he’s being celebrated enough here in Ireland."

"I believe he is a global superstar and just an amazing athlete. He's also always been a gentleman towards me."

The Notorious was not the first to be compared with Ali.

His boxing coach Phil Sutcliffe gave him the ultimate compliment one year ago.

Sutcliffe stated to TheMacLife that he told most boxers to learn to read and to see the shots coming. That is fine art.

"He's the Muhammad Ali in the UFC."
