McGregor, 33 years old, has made tremendous strides in his healing from the horrible injury. He plans to return to the cage once he is cleared to start sparring again.
He tweeted that he would be back in as soon as he was cleared to spar during an impromptu Twitter Q&A.
Audie Attar, McGregor's manager, told SunSport in October about the Irishman's progress towards recovery.
The former champion of two-divisions has told fans that he is currently waiting for the healing process to complete on his tibia.
His nine million followers on Twitter were informed by him: "The fibula has been fully healed."
"The medial side is also developing nice callous.
It is important to wait for the bone to break down to the side of the tibia, where the larger break took place.
It's moving. "Patience will win this race.
Between his intensive rehabilitation sessions, the UFC's first champion in two divisions has been spending a lot of time in the gym.
His hard work has paid off.
John Kavanagh, the head coach and good friend of John Kavanagh, has been overwhelmed by John's frame. He recently announced that they will resume mat work within the next "couple weeks".
Submission Radio spoke to him, "He's going back in the gym. He's going back on the mats now.
"He is doing a lot strength training right now.
"The guys are jacked. He's probably coming back as a midweight (laughs).
"But he will be back on the floor with me soon and we'll begin with combat sports training again.
"And, he is getting some, um... I always need to choose my words here, but look, let's start with drills.
I actually laughed with him and said, "Look, I'd prefer if we just started off with some techniques, some drilling, and let's see where it goes."
"And he was like, "no, I'm going do five by five, that is what I'm returning to do."
"And I'm like: Oh, great, you're right, we're back to full combat training again."
