He was able to coach a boxing class at Kavanagh's famous Straight Blast Gym due to his striking abilities and previous amateur experience.
McGregor, 33-year-old multimillionaire, can't help but pass on his wisdom to starving students.
Kavanagh said to BBC Sport that he used to teach me. He used to attend my boxing classes back in the day.
"It wasn’t that long ago, he was walking along the gym and saw a beginner boxer class.
"He just walked into the classroom and said, "Oh, I'll take this course today."
"You could see everyone just froze. He spent over an hour on the mat trying to perfect his jab. It was amazing to see.
"So I hope he'll be able to fill that role." He is an amazing coach."
