Conor McGregor, UFC star, looks almost unrecognizable as he shares throwback photos of his fight against Max Holloway

CONOR MCGREGOR's business model has undergone significant changes in the past nine years.

The UFC two-weight champion shared some throwback photos on social media of his fight against Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston, Aug 17, 2013.

McGregor won his second fight with the promotion, after having stopped Marcus Brimage in April.

Even though the Dubliner was covered in ink, most of his tattoos had yet to be completed.

He posted the following message to Instagram: "9 years ago today. Wow! When you're looking great and whooping, time sure does fly!

It was my U.S. debut in Boston Massachusetts, a significant fight in my career. In this fight, I tore my acl and had to use my "improvise adapt, overcome" philosophy.

"A sink or swim moment in my young career. But I didn't let it stop me. I did not fight in this injury, nor during my recovery.

"I used my wit and my grit for innovation, and I believe that humans are built to overcome. It was a success! It was a cert! I won the fight and all my other world titles.

McGregor is still healing from his broken leg sustained against Dustin Poirier on July 20,21, but is expected to announce his return fight soon.
