Although his next fight is not yet determined, he called Oliveira last month after Poirier defended his belt this month.

McGregor's Straight Blast Gym-mate Peter Queally believes it could happen next, as they both add fuel to the online fire.

Queally stated to The Mirror that "it sounds like the belt might be next to be honest."

"Normally, in this sport, when two fighters want the same thing it happens.

"So Charles wants to fight Conor. Conor wants to fight Charles. Normally, that's what happens, especially if money is involved.

Oliveira, 32 years old, was awarded the title Khabib Nurmagomedov 33 against Michael Chandler 35.

He defended it against Poirier (32), who knocked McGregor out in January and won in July after the shock injury.

McGregor is currently recovering from his horrific leg injury and training for a return next year.

He has lost his last four fights but has the backing to beat Oliveira who is currently on a 10-bout winning streak.

Queally stated: "He can beat Charles." It's not ideal for a person to be out so long due to an injury.

"But Conor knows Charles and what he can accomplish, Charles has proven himself to be a great fighter but also someone who takes hits.

"I always tell fighters that getting hit by Conor is bad news!

"So I can see him winning the fight - it would be great if he hadn’t broken his leg and was coming back from it. But these are things that you have to deal.

"But that seems like the fight there will be."
