Sonnen, an ex-UFC title challenger who is now an analyst, insists they can still produce a blockbuster with Masvidal’s 'Baddest Mother Fe***er' belt.
On Teddy Atlas' podcast, he said: "I believe the single largest fight, if your goal is to get the attention of the world and have some fun."

McGregor, 33 years old, has lost his two last fights against Dustin Poirier (whom he beat first in 2014).
Poirier, 33 years old, won their rematch in 2021 by knockout. Seven months later, he suffered a broken tibia in the trio bout.

Sonnen believes that the seeds remain planted so that the pair can finally fight.
He stated that Jorge Masvidal was the second most important draw in the sport.
