Training for Conor McGregor during his rehabilitation

The Irishman underwent successful surgery in Los Angeles, and has continued to train for his rehabilitation.

McGregor said McGregor has been lifting 'heavy' weights recently, while he is unable to do MMA training.

After one fan suggested that the two-weight UFC champion had gained too much muscle to fight again in UFC, The Notorious issued a warning to his competitors.

McGregor, 33, responded by tweeting: "All that I read was "look at how big he's gotten!" My man! These clowns will be f***ed by me when I return."

The southpaw star beat Poirier (32), in 2014. However, he was eliminated when they met again in January.

McGregor was further affected by disaster in their trilogy decider, when he broke his tibia just seconds before the end of round one.

Doctor stoppage finally beat him and he has been steadily recovering, beginning with bike exercises before he transitioned to weight training.

McGregor, who has won KOs at featherweight and welterweight, has been feared by supporters as he has become too bulky on the sidelines.

When questioned about his weight training program, he said: "There are pros and cons to everything."

"I couldn't move for the past 3 months so I took heavy weights with me and moved them. Repeat. Play with the cards that you're dealt.

"My power is up more than 50%"
