The former champion of two divisions is now going to return to light combat training in ‘a couple of weeks’ with long-time coach John Kavanagh.
Kavanagh, chief of SBG Ireland, told Submission Radio that Kavanagh will be back in the gym in the next few weeks and be back on the mats with me.
"He is doing a lot strength training right now.
"The guys are jacked. He's probably coming back as a midweight (laughs).
"But he will be back on the floor with me soon and we'll begin with combat sports training again.
"And, he is getting some, um... I always need to choose my words here, but look, let's start with drills.
I actually laughed with him and said, "Look, I'd prefer if we just started off with some techniques, some drilling, and let's see where it goes."
"And he was like, "no, I'm going do five by five, that is what I'm returning to do."
"And I'm like: Oh, great, you're right, we're back to full combat training again."
Audie Attar, manager of Mystic Mac, recently told SunSport that Mystic Mac's rehabilitation is "ahead" of schedule.
Paradigm Sports Management Chief said that he was ahead of schedule.
"We received our x-ray results back, but we also got our CT scan and ultrasound results.
"And when I see the x-ray view myself, it's healing me so beautifully.
"He is walking now after only 10 and-a-half weeks of surgery.
"And he's doing s**t we don't want him do, like throwing the first pitch at the Cubs Game."
