Conor McGregor’s manager admits he could look for another opponent for UFC comeback

Doubts Over McGregor vs. Chandler Showdown Grow

Conor McGregor's highly anticipated comeback fight may not be against Michael Chandler as originally planned. The UFC announced in February that McGregor would face fan favorite Chandler after their coaching stint on The Ultimate Fighter. However, doubts over the fight continue to grow with each passing week.

Manager Hints at Other Options

McGregor's manager, Audie Attar, has hinted that "The Notorious" could potentially face someone else instead of Chandler. Attar acknowledges that there are several other options for McGregor's return to the octagon.

McGregor's Absence from USADA Testing Pool Cited

One of the main reasons behind the delay in the McGregor-Chandler fight is McGregor's absence from the United States Anti-Doping Agency's testing pool. Returning fighters are required to be in the pool for at least six months before they can compete.

Chandler Confident Fight Will Happen

Although doubts persist, Michael Chandler remains confident that the highly anticipated fight with McGregor will eventually happen. Chandler, a former three-time Bellator lightweight champion, is the fighter McGregor has his sights set on.

No Rule Bending for McGregor's Return

Attar insists that neither he nor McGregor will try to bend the rules to enable an earlier return. They are committed to doing things the right way and following the UFC and USADA policies.

McGregor Aims for 2024 Comeback

While McGregor missed the deadline to re-enroll in the USADA testing pool for a 2023 return, he is now looking towards a comeback in 2024. The former two-division champion has been out of action since breaking his leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier two years ago.

With McGregor's return date still up in the air, fans will have to wait a little longer to see him back inside the octagon. But when he does return, it is sure to be an event that MMA fans won't want to miss.
