CONOR McGREGOR'S pub, The Black Forge, has had to temporarily close its kitchen after it came into contact with a positive Covid-19 matter.
The kitchen will be closed until Tuesday, January 11.
A pub statement stated: "Unfortunately due to being informed about a close contact and a positive Covid testing, we have made the decision to close down our kitchen until Tuesday, the 11th of Jan to ensure the safety both of our staff as well as our customers."
"The bar will be open every day until 8pm."
McGregor proudly oversaw the relaunch of Crumlin's boozer after he invested more than EUR3m in its purchase and subsequent renovation. It reopened in June 2021.
And the entrepreneurially-minded MMA icon has even splashed out EUR19m on a site along the Grand Canal with a view to building as many as 300 homes -- the vast majority of which will be rental only.
McGregor is expected to spend EUR100 million on the development of the new residential area, which will include shops and cafes as well as a supermarket.
Sinn Fein, however, has objected to this plan that was based on the build-to-rent ideology.
Maire Devine, a local councillor has condemned the Crumlin native's EUR100million venture. She called for its halt.
Sinn Fein representative said that McGregor's business move was disappointing and she intends to object to the project.
She called for the cessation of this and other similar projects. She told The Irish Sun that she would object to building-to-rent, "because it's not what our city needs."
SHOULD BE TERMINATED
The politician said: "I ask for anything being built to rent at this moment in the city be halted and not approved.
"There are countries in Europe that have stopped it or given a break to it while they wait.
"And the same should be done here until we catch-up with our homeless situation until we catch-up with housing people, families and allowing people the opportunity to live and grow rather than the housing crisis we currently have.
"Build-to rent does not solve the housing shortage."
Sinn Fein is opposed to the build-to-rent scheme, in which pads are constructed with the sole purpose being long-term rental housing.
Mary Lou McDonald, the leader of the party, has stated that they make it worse.
Eoin O'Broin, a housing spokesperson, has described the model as "fundamentally flawed".
