Conor McGregor has taken a significant step towards his return to the UFC by re-entering their drug testing pool, according to UFC president Dana White.
Delayed Comeback
McGregor's comeback fight with Michael Chandler has faced delays due to his absence from the USADA testing pool. In order to be eligible to compete, McGregor must be in the pool for a minimum of six months.
Paperwork Submitted
McGregor hinted at his imminent return earlier this week and has now submitted his paperwork to USADA to re-enter the pool. White has confirmed that the process could be completed as early as Monday.
Potential UFC 300 Return
If McGregor re-enters the pool next week, there is a possibility of his comeback fight taking place at UFC 300 in April. However, White has stated that he currently has no plans for the Irishman and will see how things play out.

Chandler's Anticipation
Michael Chandler, McGregor's potential opponent, has been patiently waiting for the fight to be finalized. He expects their bout to headline the UFC's 300th pay-per-view card, set to take place in Las Vegas.
"My heart of hearts says the biggest fight we’ve seen in a very long time has to go down on the biggest card that the UFC is going to put together since UFC 200, since UFC 100," Chandler said.
"My heart of hearts, my gut says we might be waiting until UFC 300. Good thing I’ve got a lot of things to keep myself busy, and I get an opportunity to train for Conor for a very long time."
Long-Awaited Return
McGregor hasn't competed in the octagon since his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier over two years ago, in which he suffered a leg injury.
