Dana White reveals that UFC London stars are Britain’s 'Golden Generation' and reveals plans to "branch out" in the UK

The president of Ultimate Fighting Championship believes that the long-awaited return of the UK fight league will be a showcase for the Golden Generation of British mixed martial artists.

Tomorrow night, the UFC will return to London's O2 Arena with a card featuring some of the best fighters from the Home Nations.

Ten Brits will make the Octagon walk, with Tom Aspinall (Wigan heavyweight) and Alexander Volkov (Russian Alexander Volkov) taking top billing.

Dana White, promoter of MMA in the UK, has seen the country grow from a fringe market over the past 20 years to become a thriving MMA hub. She insists that this batch of fighters is Britain’s best ever.

He stated, "100% this is the Golden Generation." Some of these fighters have the potential and ability to break into the top 3 and possibly become world champions.

He said: "The UK was always a huge fight country. You can see the talent that comes out of it.

"It's amazing the talent on this card."

White, 52, is disappointed to have missed the O2's raucous crowd and expects the diehard British fans of the O2 to create an unforgettable atmosphere for fight night.

He stated, "I'm very excited that I'm back in London. The energy you guys have in the arena is different, especially when your men are fighting.

"And that's just the demand for an event. "I expect the fans to blow up that place."

UFC fans in the UK don't need to wait too long to get their next fight. SunSport knows that the multi-billion-pound promotion is coming back to the UK in the summer.

White intends to make up the time lost in the next years by staging shows across the country, in addition to the usual promotion ports of call.

He stated that he was looking to expand. Manchester, and all other great cities that we have visited in the UK.

If Aspinall, 28 years old, extends his four-fight winning streak by flattening "Drago", the UFC could host a second UFC visit to the UK in 2015.

The Wigan fighter has passed all his UFC tests with flying colors and is now considered the dark horse in the division.

White stated that White would break into the top six with a win. Then, you can look at fights against Curtis Blaydes Tai Tuivasa, Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane.

He would continue to work his way up. He wouldn't just walk up and get a title shot. It's a huge fight, it's important.

"This is a big fight for him at O2 in London in his home country, against a top six guy in the world. It's huge."
