DANA WHITE acknowledges that bringing the UFC Africa to Africa is a top priority on his bucket list. He believes he can do it in five years.
In recent years, mixed martial arts have seen a tremendous boom on the continent and the region is now a major market for the UFC.
Three African champions are currently in the UFC, MMA's most prominent promotion.
The rapid growth of MMA in the region is due in large part to Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya capturing the UFC's welterweight and middleweight titles.
White is acutely aware of the increasing demand for promotion touch downs on Africa and is determined to make the dreams of African fighters and fans a reality.
White said to SunSport that he could give a timeframe for UFC's first African-themed event. "It's very realistic within the next five years."
White has a bucket list that includes staging a card on the continent. This list is rapidly shrinking.

Nigerian-born Kiwi Adeanya says that fighting on African soil is high on his bucket list. He told SunSport earlier this summer: "100% [it's something] I must tick off."
"Because of what me, Kamaru, and Francis are doing now is history. There has to be a way for us to make that a reality for our people.
"And I feel like doing the card in the continent. The great continent of Africa would be the one.
