UFC boss Dana White revealed that the promotion's long-awaited return in London will be dependent on the UK's 'normal' Covid restrictions
Since their 2019 London show at O2 Arena, the MMA leader has not held an event in the United Kingdom.
Since their March 2019 Till vs Masvidal card
UFC hasn't been back to the UK.
Many Brits have fights lined up for March, when the UFC traditionally visits London.
SunSport believes that the promotion is indeed looking to return to O2 on March 19.
White says that the UFC's long-awaited return home to London will depend on the removal of restrictions on mass gatherings in the months ahead.
He said to SunSport that it would all depend on how the UFC 269 prefight press conference went.
"As long the Covid restrictions remain normal, we can travel internationally other than Abu Dhabi.
"We'll watch how it all unfolds over the next few months.
"We're talking about new strains of yeast and all that stuff. We'll watch and see what happens.
The welterweight match between Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till was the highlight of the last UFC UK event.
Although the promotion was due to return to London in March, the card was cancelled six days before fight night because of the pandemic.
The show would feature a 170lb bout between Tyron Woodley and Leon Edwards, a former welterweight champion from Birmingham.
However, the pandemic didn't stop UK-based fighters competing.
Three UFC stints on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi were used by international fighters to keep them active. The island was promoted as Fight Island.
Abu Dhabi was a home away from home for UFC, but White is looking forward to international fight cards.
White told BT Sport that he hoped for a return to London when he was asked.
"Like I said, one year ago, I could have answered all your questions. "Who the hell knows what these days?"
