Farid Basharat's Perfect Start in the UFC
Farid Basharat, the former London Shootfighters standout, has made a flawless start to his career in the UFC. Since signing a contract on season six of Dana White's Contenders Series, Basharat has gone 2-0 in MMA's top promotion.
Improvement and Potential
Despite his early success, Basharat believes that his best is yet to come. He is confident that fans will see his full potential when he takes on Taylor Lapilus at UFC Vegas 84.
Basharat stated, "They've seen my grappling abilities so far. In the last fight, they saw the grappling. But then again, in the Contenders Series, they saw some really good striking too. The thing with me, I'm always improving. So you're just going to see me improve and get better and better."
Moving to Las Vegas
Basharat and his brother Javid made the decision to move from London to Las Vegas to train at Xtreme Couture. This move has allowed them to further develop their skills and reach new heights in their careers.

Representing Afghanistan
As Afghan-born fighters, the Basharat brothers are eager to represent their native country. They hope to fly the flag of Afghanistan in future fights and make their fellow countrymen proud.
Farid stated, "The most important thing for me is going out there and winning fights. And representing my people with honour and dignity and claiming to be from Afghanistan. That's what is going to make people look at me and go, 'Oh, that guy's an Afghan fighter.'"
A Tough Fight Ahead
Basharat is preparing to face Taylor Lapilus, a top-notch fighter from France who recently defeated former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion Caolan Loughran. Basharat believes Lapilus will be the toughest opponent of his career but is excited to prove that he belongs at the top.
Looking Ahead to 2024
Basharat has big plans for the future. He aims to secure three "spectacular" finishes in 2024 and earn a spot in the top 15 at bantamweight. His goal is to be ranked by the end of the year.
