UFC president Dana White has just dropped a major bombshell: the organization is working on a blockbuster "super fight" that will leave fans in awe. With the UFC's 300th pay-per-view event scheduled for April 6 in Las Vegas, White and his team of matchmakers have been busy planning fights for the milestone card and beyond.

What's the Super Fight?

Although White didn't spill all the details, he did confirm that a "super fight" is currently in the works. During an appearance on the Full Send podcast, he revealed, "We're talking about one right now that just popped up a few days ago. I can't talk about it right now until we get everybody [on board]." However, White made it clear that this fight will not involve UFC poster boy Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor's Return

While McGregor is still expected to make his highly anticipated return at UFC 300 against Michael Chandler, White hinted that Chandler isn't guaranteed to be his opponent. The UFC president stated, "100 per cent he fights next year. We'll see [who he fights, we'll see. The timing of when it goes down." He also pointed out that Chandler and other fighters are able to patiently wait for the right opportunity, unlike some other high-profile names in the sport.

McGregor, who hasn't competed in the octagon since his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier two-and-a-half years ago, has been vocal about his desire to return. He recently pleaded with the UFC, saying, "I've been kept from my living for almost three years now. Understand that. I came through what I came through. I'm sitting on an injury and a loss. You hear what Alexander Volkanovski said? I relate. I must return to my way of living. This is my job. It's beyond frustrating. … I just want the date. Give me the date, please. That's it."
