They fought again in the octagon one year later, Rousey winning the title for the UFC.
She would become one of the company's biggest stars in the years that followed.
After losing consecutively to Holly Holm, then Amanda Nunes in 2016, Rousey left the UFC and joined the WWE.
After a successful career in pro wrestling, she decided to retire again in 2019. She also gave birth to baby girl La'akea Makalapuaokalanipo in 2019, with Travis Browne.
Rousey stated that she plans to retire to be closer to her family. However, Tate has never stopped dreaming.
ESPN spoke to her: "It was just something I was thinking about when we talk about long-term objectives.

"But man it would be a dream come to true if she came home and I could fight with her one more time. Ronda Rousey is a formidable opponent. I am confident in my abilities.
"And she knew that part of the kryptonite was in my ex-relationship, which was causing the rift between us.
So everything in my personal life was unstable. I found it so difficult to deal with the competition and added pressure from someone like that whom you live with every day.
"I believe I entered those fights congested in mind. "I was unable to fight her just because I could."
Tate, who had retired from MMA in 2016, was back and defeated Marion Reneau (44).
In her second fight, Ketlen Vieira (30), will take on the former champion of UFC.
