McGregor, who is beefier, wants to make a comeback to the Octagon next year.

The snaps were captioned "190lbs of pure Granite" by him. He confirmed that he is currently 35lbs heavier than when the fight was over five months ago.

McGregor was defeated by Poirier at lightweight (155lbs) in July after McGregor suffered a terrible leg injury at the end.

This was Poirier’s second win over McGregor in six months, following his January stoppage victory.

As he prepares for his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 Las Vegas, the American has earned himself a lightweight title shot.

He did take the time to comment on McGregor’s larger physique during fight preparations.

According to Sportskeeda, he stated that he had seen a photograph. He looks a bit puffy, man.

Fans have been stunned by the incredible transformation of this Irishman's body.

"He might need to slow down on Black Forge, whatever else he has going on."

McGregor has only won one UFC fight since he was a two-weight world champion in 2016.

He was defeated twice by Poirier, and also lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 2018.

Poirier, on the other hand, has gained a lot of momentum since his loss to Khabib back in September 2019.

He won a unanimous win over Dan Hooker and then he beat McGregor twice to cement his status as one of the top lightweights in the country.

He now wants to defeat Oliveira, and finally win his first title in the world at 32.

After a very intense final staredown Poirier spoke to Joe Rogan, UFC commentator.

"I've paid my dues. For the ultimate view, there is one more mountain.

"Baby! Destiny doesn't make mistakes. Let's go!"
