FRANCIS NGANNOU identifies heavyweight boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, as his dream fights.
When asked by the UFC champion, he was asked which fantasy opponent he would most like to face.
UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou
Ngannou chose to fight two of the most renowned boxers of all times, and he did so by ignoring the greatest MMA icons.
He said, "I think that I will put Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson" on Jeff's Barbershop.
Ngannou dreamed of boxing as a career when he was 22 years old, before moving to France.
Instead, he switched to MMA because it was easier to find fights. He made his debut in 2013 as a Cameroonian fighter.
Ngannou, 35 years old, won the title this March by defeating Stipe Miocic (39), after just six years and 13 fights.
The hard-hitter, however, has considered a move to boxing in an attempt to defeat Tyson Fury (33), Anthony Joshua (32) and Dillian Whyte (33)
Ngannou once again announced his intention to cross over to the ring, despite revealing financial difficulties. He was also UFC champ.
On the MMA Hour, he said that MMA was more difficult than boxing. I don't believe I should be borrowing money to train camp.
"At some point I'm going to go after the money. For sure, I will be boxing. I am not challenging the system. I'm simply stating my right.
"I am not yet signed a new contract because I don't want to sign a deal with these terms. I feel unsafe.
"I have borrowed money in the past two years and nobody seems to care about it. I don't have any guarantee on that deal.
"So, based on that experience, I am trying to obtain better terms on my contractual contract and what I believe I deserve.
"According what they said, my contract is independent so I want a termination date so that I can be at liberty after it ends."
"Then, after that, I would like to have freedom. So then you have the right to decide where and what you want to go.
"I will not be required to sign the contract again (with a termination date), as it is not an independent contract.
"If you claim that I am challenging the system, then I know I am not. I can assure your satisfaction that I am not."
