Francis Ngannou warns Ciryl Gae UFC 270 clash he relied on sparring sessions

FRANCIS NGANNOU warned Ciryl Gane that if he relies heavily on their sparring sessions, his bid for the UFC heavyweight title is doomed.

These former teammates will meet in a massive heavyweight title unification fight at UFC 270, Anaheim, California on Sunday morning.

Ngannou warned him not to rely upon their sparring sessions.

Fernand Lopez, chief of MMA Factory, released a video showing the intimate relationship between the two men.

Ngannou claims that Gane was winning some of the battles. However, the footage shows Gane losing. Ngannou says his coach and team-mate would have been foolish to draw up a plan based on past encounters.

SunSport spoke with the undisputed heavyweight champion: "Even though they rely upon that video, it does not look good for them.

"Because they know exactly the outcome and that is not good news.

"If they had relied on that video, then they would have known that it wasn't going to work out for them."

Ngannou, 34 years old, has seen great improvement in his striking and takedown defense since he moved to Las Vegas and set up shop at Xtreme Couture.

The French Cameroonian suspects that his old comrades won’t be too dependent on their sessions at the old MMA Factory gym.

UFC's first African-born heavyweight champion stated that they don't rely on this.

"I believe they have just used clips of that footage as a highlight to promote Ciryl.

"And that's exactly what's been going on since all the hype and fight promotion.

They just released the clips, not the video. They aren't relying on the video, I think.

Gane, 31 years old, was a young prospect when he started training with Ngannou in 2019, and was at that time in the top five of the UFC's heavyweight ranks.

The Frenchman isn't too proud of the success in sparring with The Predator, but is confident that his skill-set has dramatically improved since then.

SunSport was informed by Bon Gamin that he believes the team has improved 100 percent.

Ngannou's fight with Gane will be the main event at UFC 270 in Anaheim on Saturday.

"We have made significant improvements - both on his and my part.

"At this point, I felt like I was really fortunate because I just started in MMA, and I can spare with a guy who is already in the top five."

"So, I believe today that it's going be a little different. This has given me a lot more confidence."
