From Poverty To Glory: The Edwards Brothers Journey into MMA History

Young and Determined

Fabian and Leon Edwards grew up in poverty in Kingston, Jamaica, facing the harsh realities of drug use and violence in their community. Their mother made the difficult decision to move them to Birmingham, hoping to provide them with a better life.

A Desperate Bid to Keep Them Off the Streets

In an effort to keep her sons away from trouble, their mother urged them to try mixed martial arts (MMA). Little did she know, this decision would eventually lead to their historic journey.

Defying the Odds

Now, Fabian Edwards is on the brink of becoming the Bellator middleweight champion, while his brother Leon already claimed the UFC welterweight title last August. If Fabian wins at Bellator 299 this week, they will be the first siblings to hold UFC and Bellator gold at the same time.

Rising from the Wooden Shack

The Edwards brothers have come a long way from the wooden shack they grew up in. Despite their difficult circumstances, they paved their own path to success in the world of MMA.

A Shot at Glory

This Friday night, Fabian will challenge the undefeated Johnny Eblen for the middleweight title at Bellator 299 in Dublin. Fabian is confident in his abilities and looks forward to making his own mark in the history books.

A Clean Five-Rounder or a Stoppage

Fabian believes he has the beating of Eblen, stating that he either sees himself catching him in the second or third round, or dominating him in a five-round war. Regardless of the outcome, Fabian is prepared for an intense battle.
