Gegard Mousasi hopes 2022 will bring some consistency after nearly two years of constant stopping and starting.
Bellator middleweight champion Mousasi, like many other mixed martial artists, saw his plans for 18 months become a disaster.

Unfortunately, Mousasi has only fought three times in the past 28 months due to a lack foes.
The mixed martial arts legend hopes his Friday night return to Bellator 275 will kick-start a busy year.
SunSport reported that he said: "The worst part is I don’t get many fights right now.
"Covid" means that I fought twice last year [2020] as well as once this year.
"So hopefully this is the year. If possible, I will fight twice."
While the world seems to be returning to normal, Mousasi knows that Covid can rear its ugly head anytime and ruin his plans.
He said: "But the trouble is that I could possibly be fit and if someone gets Covid, then the fight gets cancelled which can lead to another six months. "I don't know what they want."
Mousasi (36 years old) has a plan in place for Bellator if they are unable match his enthusiasm to compete.
He stated that he thought it might be a boxing match. Last year, we chased Anderson Silva. ShowTime made it possible.
"But I don’t know, it’s difficult to get anything done these days."
"But first, I need to defend my title, then maybe a fight in boxing to keep me busy until that fight."
Mousasi is open to the idea of a light-heavyweight return if a boxing venture fails to materialize.
"There have been a lot fights where I lost, and I thought, 'OK. I could've won. I could've dominated more.'
"I feel like my prime. I just lost one fight in many. It's like I'm still in my prime.
"But there's more I can show and people what I really am capable of."
"Just to be satisfied with my career. I don't want my career to end feeling like I could have done and shown more.
"And the light-heavyweight Belt, I think that that's something is going to really impact how people look back on what I did in my career."
On fight night, Austin Vanderford, undefeated middleweight, will be standing in front of Mousasi. Vanderford won a dominant win over Brit Fabian Edwards last May and is now a contender for the title.
He stated that he had seen The Gentlemen fights. He is a typical wrestler.
He takes you down, keeps you down, and then he grinds and pounds you. There's no way to know what he will do to me.
Bellator Dublin: Mousasi against Vanderford live on BBC Three starting at 10:30pm BST Friday, February25
