GEORGES ST.PIERRE insists that he is still "training like an pro" and is ready to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at a grappling match.
Canadian UFC legend, aged 40, is long anticipated to face his counterpart in MMA.
Khabib (33), and St-Pierre were involved in a money-spinning dispute last year.
Despite both of them being retired, UFC chief Dana White was keen to stage a historic fight between the two greatest fighters in the sport.
Negotiations failed to move forward and collapsed.
St-Pierre is still eager to face Khabib in pure grappling one year later.
With a 26-2 record, the former champion at welterweight or middleweight insists that he is still training at a high level.
St-Pierre thinks that Khabib, a former lightweight champion who retired undefeated at 29,0, could be tempted in the right context.
He said to MMA News, "I don’t know. Listen, it could be well-organized...
"If an event is well-organized, such as novelty fights, then why not?"

"Even some guys sometimes tell me they're preparing a comeback. I'm like, "no, I am 40 years old."
St-Pierre revealed previously that he would try to beat Khabib in octagon. He said: "I would immediately take the center of octagon.
"Use lots of feints and keep the fight going all the way to the end or all the the way in.
"What I mean is that you close the gap quickly and then use your explosive takedowns in order to bring him down.
"I love to use these takedowns because it's more economic [for energy]. Khabib is a better chain wrestler than I am.
"I wouldn’t be afraid of wrestling him. Every fight I had, I was able defeat them all.
"You would see him on the back, and maybe I would have seen him on mine as well. It would have been an interesting fight.

"In the clinch I'd attempt to disengage. I have many tools that can disengage the clinch.
"I would make the fight in a shootbox distance and not at wrestling distance.
