After his defeat to Kamaru Usman last February at UFC 248, Burns, now 35, is accustomed to tuning in to the noise from fans, media members, and oddsmakers.
However, that was not the case prior to that fateful night at UFC's Apex facility in Las Vegas.
According to the Brazilian, he admitted that he had some issues with it in the past.

Burns is no longer as weighed down by the opinions of others than he was earlier in his career.
He stated that "To be truthful, people [ask]: 'What do the odds look like?'" It doesn't matter to me.
"At the end, I know who and what I'm with."
"These people are there for me, my family, and my team. Their opinions are very important to me.
"But the media and the fans, the odds, they don't matter as much to me [about them].
Burns didn't care much about the assumption that Chimaev would run through Burns like a hot knife through butter to win a title.
He plans to spoil the coming out party of Chimaev by launching himself into the title mix with a statement-making win.
He stated, "I don’t believe it’s gonna be decision, but I think it’s going to finish."
