Glover Teixeira was due to headline UFC 282 against Jiri Prochazka for the UFC Light Heavyweight title. However, Jiri was forced to withdraw due to injury, thus, Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev were promoted to the main event for the vacant belt.
As no champion was named after the fight went to the final bell where the judges ruled the contest a split draw. Glover Teixeira reacted to the fight and the possible future of the division.
