Chris Avila defeated Anthony Taylor, an ex-sparring partner of YouTuber's, on the undercard.
Avila, who was a long-time friend of Diaz in Stockton, gave permission for Paul's mentor to box Paul.
He said to MMAFighting, "I'm down for that fight. You'll be fighting Nate Diaz and you're the best fighter ever.
"So these guys have been calling his name, and eventually he will get in the boxing rings and I'm eager to see it.
He can choose who he will box. It's easy for him to make a mark and make a statement in boxing.
Paul, 24 years old, was scheduled to face Fury (22 years old), this month, until Fury pulled out with a broken bone and a chest infection.

On Paul's KO List, he now joins YouTuber "AnEsonGib", ex-NBA player Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37), who is a retired UFC welterweight.
Avila, 28 years old, insists that Diaz, 36, will not be subject to the same fate as Askren or Woodley, former UFC fighters.
He stated that Jake Paul's team was zero. We are already one up.
"The last fight was a Paul versus Diaz, team against team, Jake Paul did that. They are already down one.
"So, if he wishes to fight Nate or me in the ring, that would be great with both of us. That's a fight that I know I can win.
"It's clear that Nate would win this fight, hands down." It's easy money.
