In the Tone of Matthew McConaughey: Article Summary
Renowned Navy SEAL David Goggins Assisting UFC Star Tony Ferguson
Joe Rogan, renowned podcaster and UFC commentator, has expressed doubts about Tony Ferguson's decision to train with former Navy SEAL David Goggins for his upcoming fight. Goggins is famous for his intense training regimes and was brought in to help Ferguson prepare for his next bout.
Mixed Reactions Surround the Partnership
Ferguson's next opponent, Paddy Pimblett, has criticized the partnership, calling it "f****** stupid" in the context of a fight camp. Rogan, on his podcast, expressed curiosity about the impact of Goggins' training methods on Ferguson's performance, stating, "I’m very interested to see Tony after he’s been training with David Goggins. There's a lot of mixed reviews about whether or not that would be a good thing or a bad thing for him."
Unprecedented Training Approach Sparks Debate
Rogan highlighted the uniqueness of Ferguson's training with Goggins, saying, "You can say on one hand, clearly, when the two of them are training together, David is not struggling at all, and Tony is struggling." The UFC star has been visibly exhausted after training sessions, even vomiting. Rogan acknowledged that the partnership could have benefits, particularly in terms of endurance.
Ferguson Seeks Career Turnaround
Ferguson, who is currently on a six-fight losing streak, is hoping to revitalize his career with a win in his upcoming UFC 296 fight against Paddy Pimblett. In an effort to get back on track, he enlisted the help of 48-year-old Goggins.
Training Regimes Highlighted
Rogan also commented on the stark contrast in appearance between the two training partners, stating, "They’re doing the workouts together, and David looks like he’s hanging out at f****** Planet Fitness trying to pick up a chick. Tony’s dying." However, he noted that Goggins praised Ferguson for being the first person to complete "hell week" with him.
