McGregor was on vacation in Rome when he met McGregor and encouraged him to try his "Proper 12" whiskey.
On Instagram, the UFC champ posted photos of his encounters with Depp. He thanked Depp for his hospitality.
He stated, "John Depp and myself enjoying a fine glass on the rocks of Proper Twelve."
Johnny, thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality! A proper gentleman."
Depp is seen in the snaps posing with McGregor and Dee Devlin. He was also seen arm-in–arm with Conor's mom, Margaret.
Aoife, Conor's sister, expressed regret in the comments that she wasn't there for the chance encounter. She said: "In depps it I wasn't there."
Although McGregor was mocked by fans for forcing Depp to drink some whiskey, the photos showed that they did actually enjoy a drink together.
McGregor, appearing to be responding to Depp's meeting, revealed that he had dressed as Jack Sparrow for Halloween. This is the same actor who played the role of Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean.
McGregor and his family were visiting Italy to celebrate Rian's Christening.
However, the holiday was marred by his accusation of punching an Italian DJ and fracturing his nose.
Since then, the DJ has filed an official complaint against the former UFC champion.
This adds to a separate personal injury claim McGregor has filed against him by another individual. The hearing is scheduled for next year.
McGregor denies any wrongdoing.
