JON JONES will make his long-awaited return in the UFC after a nearly two-and-a half-year absence.
Since his victory over Dominick Remey at UFC 247, the former pound-for pound king hasn’t been seen in the octagon.
Jon Jones has not been inside the Octagon for nearly two-and-a half years
to gain several pounds of muscle.
Jones' absence was due in part to a contract dispute between the UFC brass and his concerted effort at slowly building up for his long-awaited move to heavyweight.
Bones has missed some of the best years of his career and is now ready to return to the cage.
Richard Schaefer, the 34-year old's advisor, told SunSport recently: "He has been training, and he's extremely smart about how bulk up and have a right weight, and to do it in an intelligence way.
"Not only eating well, but also gaining muscle mass.

Jones is expected to fight Stipe Miocic, the two-time champion at heavyweight. However, it is not known if a interim title will be offered.
Schaefer advises Jones, a former light-heavyweight king, to accept it if it is offered.
Schaefer replied to a question about Jones' willingness and ability to fight for an interim belt.
"I will have to wait and see how it plays out. The situation between Francis & the UFC. How will that turn out?
"I believe that athletes should compete. They don't get any younger because the clock is ticking.
Let's face facts, the goal is to fight in the global title race. Sometimes, however, it is necessary to take a step back.
Jon would be happy to accept an interim title if you have to fight for it to see how Francis' situation plays out from a legal standpoint.
Jones was granted permission to return in December after he agreed to a plea agreement in a Nevada domestic battery case.
