SunSport announced in January that Jones' advisor Richard Schaefer was to meet with UFC chiefs in order to negotiate a new deal.

SunSport spoke with the former CEO of Golden Boy Promotions: "He is ready, willing and able fight any opponent we can get for our heavyweight title."
