Chael Sonnen praised JORGE MASVIDAL for agreeing to a 'career-ending bout' against arch UFC rival Colby Covington.
Masvidal, once friends, and Covington, are now set to settle the matter in the octagon.
Chael Sonnen praised Jorge Masvidal for his acceptance of a 'career-ending battle' against Colby Covington
They have signed to headline UFC 272 Las Vegas on March 26th, which will be the confirmation of one of the bitterest grudge matches in UFC history.
Ex-UFC champion and analyst Sonnen now fears that Masvidal's third consecutive loss could be the end for his stardom.
On his YouTube channel, he said: "In all fairness I really got to respect Masvidal because this is a fight that will end my career." It's that important.
Jorge, the second-biggest opponent in combat right now and coming off two losses, will get so much attention, focus, and hatred that it's almost impossible to ignore.
"If he goes out and gets taken down, he is going to get mauled for 25 mins, it will take a lot off the shine that is second-biggest draw the BMF Jorge Masvidal.
Jorge signed up anyway. "Goddamn, that's something I respect."

He then challenged Kamaru Usman (34-year-old welterweight champion) in July 2020, but only after filling out on late notice.
Masvidal was defeated on points, but was brutally eliminated in their April 2021 rematch. Masvidal had not won in more than two years.
Covington, 33 years old, has lost twice to Usman, both of which were very close.
Masvidal is still open to Sonnen's prediction, but expects an apology from him if he wins against his former roommate and training partner.
According to him, he said that he liked Chael. He was a bit bothered by the comment but it seems like it only sets up the f***ng mountain to go higher.
"When Chael climbs it, and Chael is like, "I can't believe that you climbed that mountain," I'm going be like, "I told you bitch."
"I get it, man. Two Oregon white boys, both with that sleazeball style.
Chael was more professional than I thought, but he said things that weren't necessary to say, such as raising Anderson Silva's widow.
"So these guys have to stick together. Chael is a guy I like because he will apologize and go back to me.
"So when I f***ing kill Colby, he must be like, "Holy s ***, This guy deserves a title fight," and blah blah blah.
