UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman told Conor McGregor to "be quiet" after he criticized Jorge Masvidal's decision to withdraw from his fight against Leon Edwards.
Gamebred, who was injured in his UFC 269 match with Rocky this week, withdrew.
Jorge Masvidal resigned from the showdown with Leon Edwards due to an undisclosed injury
McGregor claimed that McGregor bottled the welterweight grudge bout, which prompted Usman mention his history with injuries.
The Nigerian Nightmare took to Twitter after seeing McGregor's joke: "You should be calm.
After getting your ass whipped, you will cry more about injuries than anyone else.
"Foot and ankle, shin, what am I missing?"
McGregor was quick to notice Usman's response and he didn't hesitate to give it back to Africa’s first UFC champion.
The Notorious tweeted, "Ye you're missing some bro for certain. I don't know what it is, but
"Originality maybe? "Originality maybe?" I don't know. It's almost as if nobody cares.
"No one cares about what you think. You try so hard, but I don't know.
"Somethings are missing for you, tho for certain. God bless you anyway.
UFC 268, where Usman, the pound-for-pound king, was last in action, saw him win a unanimous decision over bitter rival Colby Covington.
McGregor is currently recovering from the fractured leg he sustained in his UFC 264 Trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.
SunSport recently heard from The Notorious' manager that his recovery has been going much better than he had expected.
Audie Attar, chief of Paradigm Sports Management, said that he is ahead of schedule.
"We received our X-ray results back, but we also got our CT scan and ultrasound results.
"It's so healing to see the X-ray view from my own eyes.
"He is walking now after only 10 and-a-half weeks of surgery.
"And he's doing s**t we don't want him do, like throwing the first pitch at the Cubs Game."
