Former UFC champ Khabib Nurmagomedov continues his attack on UFC's ring girls, saying there's 'no need'.
The 33-year-old Russian said that ring girls were 'the most inefficient people in martial arts' last month.
Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn't like ring girls
did not impress Arianny Celeste, legendary ring girl.
Conor McGregor, his bitter rival, poked fun at Khabib via Twitter. Arianny Celeste was also a victim of his remarks.
However, the UFC's longest-serving lightweight champ refuses to change his mind.
RT Today spoke with the MMA legend, who said that everyone has their own opinions on something.
"For instance, someone asked me a few months back about my promotion, Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC) and why there were no ring girls there.
"I said it because I don't see any reason to."
"Some people may not agree with me, but who cares?" "I don't care, because I have my own opinion."
Although combat sports have been around for thousands of centuries, ring girls were introduced only during the 1960s when the Las Vegas boxing scene arose.
Recent years have seen a split in opinion about ring girls, with many believing that they are unnecessary and sexist.
Others believe that they are part of the history of combat sports and an integral part in fight night.
Khabib, who is now a promoter after his retirement from fighting has notused ring girls at any of his events.
The MMA icon said: "Dana White [UFC chief] might like it, maybe you too. My name is Khabib, not Dana.
"I'm not coming with my rules to you. This is what you don't do. However, if we are able to have a joint event, it is important that we all realize this."
McGregor posted a Simpsons meme, making fun of Nurmagomedov.
The photograph showed Smithers, who was labelled Khabib, sobbing, while Brittany Palmer and Arianny Celeste, two naked women, captioned Brittany Palmer and Arianny Celeste, danced next to him.
Ring-girl Palmer quoted the Notorious' tweet, writing: "Hahahahah sorry not sorry!"
Celeste also entered the water.
She wrote the following response to the Instagram image: "Sorry, we make you uncomfortable."
