Khabib Nurmagomedov, a former UFC lightweight champion, has purchased shares in the premier promotion of mixed martial arts.
After beating Justin Gaethje at Fight Island, Nurmagomedov was undefeated and walked out of the UFC. He emotionally retired in the octagon with his 29th professional win.
Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that he has shares in the UFC
Russia's UFC champion is now focusing his efforts on his many business ventures.
He has made it a point to capitalize on Endeavour's parent company and make the UFC a publicly traded entity.
Nurmagomedov answered the question "Who gave this information?"
"Yes, I'm already there.
"[The] UFC is already listed on the IPO, and I own some of the shares."
The Eagle was then asked whether his shareholder status allowed him to lobby for promotion.
The 32-year old replied, "Yes, it's possible."
"We discussed this topic in many of our meetings with Dana White.
"I see great potential for [the] UFC.
"They went to IPO, and they have great prospects."
Nurmagomedov said that he doesn't like receiving gifts when he was asked by a reporter if he received shares from the UFC.
"We can claim that I purchased UFC stock. It will be true.
Nurmagomedov revealed his purchase of UFC shares just days after signing a contract to play pro football.
Last week, RT reported that the Dagestani destroyer had signed a deal with FC Legion Dynamo, a third division Russian side.
FC Legion added to the speculation by posting a photo of Nurmagomedov holding Shamil Lakhiyalov's hand with what appeared like a contract.
The caption that accompanied them read: "Our Legion awaits a great fight, for which great warriors are needed.
"Getting ready for the RPL team with Khabib Numagomedov."
However, Nurmagomedov's manager has refuted this claim by tweeting recently: "Fake News."
