KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV warned Bellator and the UFC that Eagle FC would take in their disgruntled fighters.
Six weeks after announcing his retirement, the former UFC lightweight champion began his Russian-based promotion in Dec 2020.
After his retirement from MMA
, Khabib Nurmagomedov has become the promoter for Eagle FC.
Nurmagomedov, who has snagged several top-name fighters in the past six months, believes Eagle FC can be a home for those tired of the UFC and Bellator.
The 33-year old said during a press conference that "big organizations like UFC and Bellator have to be cautious with their fighters because Eagle FC has arrived."
"Officially, we want to sign great athletes, great athletes with great names.
"We're also working with the younger generation.
"We have two objectives. "I just want to warn you. Eagle FC will not treat fighters who are good.
The UFC is currently facing immense fan fury about its pay structure. Jake Paul, a YouTuber, highlighted it.
Unhappy fighters may consider Eagle FC as their new home, if they decide to quit mixed martial arts' top promotion.
Eagle FC has signed Kevin Lee, a former UFC lightweight title challenger who will be facing Diego Sanchez next month. This is the biggest signing Eagle FC has made.
The fight will take place at 165lbs, which Nurmagomedov introduced after watching fighters struggle to lose weight.
He stated, "I understand the game from the inside."
"I was a professional fighter for twelve years. Many fighters tell me that they want weight classes of 155, 65 and 75.
"When I opened the Eagle FC, I was like, "Why can't you do that?"
"Let's make some history!"
Eagle FC will host their much-anticipated first American show, the 44th in their promotional run, on Friday night in Miami.
The main event will feature a heavyweight fight between Tyrone Spong, a legendary kickboxer, and Sergei Kharitonov (MMA veteran).
